What to expect during silent practice

If you've never sat in held silence, here is the shape of the days, what tends to surface, and what eases.

The first hours feel loud. The mind catches up with itself.

By the second day, a different rhythm sets in. Eating slows, walking slows.

By the third day, the inner volume drops. People often describe it as 'wide'.

Coming out of silence is its own threshold, we end gently, with a slow breakfast and only a little speech.
