The five apps to install before you board
Five apps to install at home, while your phone still behaves the way you expect. Skip these and the first day gets harder than it needs to.
WeChat (微信) — the messaging, payments, and small-app super-platform.
AliPay — the second payment rail. Foreign cards now work directly inside it.
Amap (高德地图) — far better than Google Maps inside China.
DiDi — the local Uber, with an English mode.
